Given that most of Panda’s other features aren’t compatible with macOS, I don’t think Panda is a good choice for Mac users. I then tried Panda’s macOS antivirus scanner on my MacBook and it was disastrous - nearly 6 hours later, it hadn’t even gotten half way through completing the full scan. The critical areas scan was better, completing in around 5 minutes - which is comparable to other top competitors like Norton and Avira whose quick scans take between 5 and 10 minutes. However, the second full scan took just over an hour, which is good, but unlike some antiviruses (including Norton), Panda doesn’t mark previously scanned files as safe in order to reduce future scan times. When you consider that most top competitors (such as Norton and Bitdefender) can complete a full scan in under an hour, this is pretty bad. The full scan was the worst - the first full scan I ran took a whopping 8 hours to complete. Scans specific files and folders.Īlthough the scan options are clear and the process straightforward, I found Panda’s scan times to be pretty inconsistent.
